Family Weekend Retreat Camp: Epilepsy

Come to Camp and experience the spirit of Boggy Creek. Parents and guardians can relax and find needed support among other families dealing with similar challenges. Siblings can participate in all of the fun, hosted by our volunteers and staff.

During these Family Retreat Weekends, we will offer campers and their families time to connect away from home and participate in some favorite Boggy Creek traditions, including cheering, singing, dancing, trying new things, and sharing kindness. Families will be able to choose their own adventure by visiting activities including boating and fishing, archery, woodshop, miniature golf, and relaxing on the dining hall porch.

Families are paired up with volunteer pals that act as hosts for the fun—greeting families upon arrival, showing them around Camp, hosting families at activity areas, playing with the children, helping the families with any needs that arise, and generally helping families to have the best experience possible.

Let’s get the process started. Next time you are at your child’s specialist, please have them fill out the specific medical diagnosis forms and return them with a copy of the most recent progress notes via fax to 352-483-2959 or via email to camperrecruiter@campboggycreek.org. Medical records are good for one year. You can find the specific medical form you need here . We currently accept children ages 5-17 for our Weekend Retreats.

Need some help registering your child? Reach out to Arlene Castro, Director of Admissions & Family Engagement: 352-483-4200 xt. 4276 or via email: acastro@campboggycreek.org.

Sickle Cell Summer Camp

to Aug 3

Sickle Cell Summer Camp

During each of our overnight summer sessions, campers arrive for an experience of fun, adventure, and independence. The prescription for the day is fun, fun, fun! Laughter, giggles, friendships, and excitement abound on the 232 acres of tall pines and majestic oaks. While keeping everyone feeling safe, respected, and loved, staff, and, volunteers empower campers to try new activities for the first time. Campers have opportunities to gain a spirit of accomplishment at every turn and to feel like a kid and forget that “they have what they have.”

Campers can catch a fish, shoot arrows at archery, make a woodshop project, perform on stage and so much more, all while making some wonderful new friends who have similar medical experiences.
