Summer Seasonal Employment
Camp Boggy Creek is hiring a seasonal staff team to keep our campers, volunteers and staff members feeling safe, respected and loved.
Our staff members will leave having learned interpersonal skills, worked in a community that believes in teamwork, made long-lasting friendships, discovered new talents and contributed to bringing joy and fun into the lives of children with serious illnesses. Our staff gain experience working with both kids and adults, because we work with the campers and with each other.
For the summer of 2023, we will hire nearly 60 employees to work from May through the beginning of August, serving the children with serious illnesses who attend our overnight summer camp. Applicants must be at least 19 years old, and employment is contingent on reference checks, receipt of passing the criminal background screening, fingerprinting and medical/immunization requirements. (COVID-19 vaccination is highly recommended, but not required.) We try to have summer staff hired by the beginning of April, so interested applicants are encouraged to apply early.
Camp work is demanding. Please be ready to experience long hours, curfews, limited time off, lack of privacy, Florida heat and thunderstorms. Camp work is also fun! Please be ready to experience laughter, high fives, celebration of mistakes, and life-changing rewards. We get to help kids make friends, practice their courage, and try new things for the very first time!
All voices are needed at Camp Boggy Creek, and every new member of our team is an opportunity for our Camp to grow. We want to hire a camp staff that is reflective of the campers we serve, so we strongly encourage diverse candidates to apply. Camp Boggy Creek is intentional about growing in our diversity, equity, and inclusion, as we want all children and adults to feel safe, respected and loved here.
