Summer

Camp

Become a summer camp volunteer at Camp Boggy Creek.

Summer Camp

Multiple sessions of overnight Camp offer our campers the chance to come to Camp and catch a fish, make a woodshop project or swim in the pool while making some wonderful new friends.  Volunteers serve as Cabin Counselors who live and play with our campers, helping to give them the best week of their lives. We have a great need for male volunteers during our summer program! You can also volunteer in the Dining Hall or Kitchen. Summer sessions require six-day commitment. To complete volunteer orientation and training, volunteers arrive the day before campers arrive.

Volunteer Opportunities

Cabin Counselor

Medical Support, Nurses and Physicians

Volunteer groups are welcome! Campus clubs, fraternities, sororities, and career focus groups will find a great opportunity for college credit, service hours, or career experience. Group Leaders can email the Volunteer Coordinator for instructions or call toll-free at 866-462-6449 extension 4293.

Who are Cabin Counselors?

The primary responsibility of a cabin counselor is to bring new energy and fresh ideas to their cabin while taking care of the daily needs of 8 to 10 campers in their cabin. This 24-hour-a-day job requires lots of energy and is focused on helping the campers have an exciting and empowering experience. Cabin counselors are expected to lead by example and live in the cabin for the week. Typically 2 to 3 volunteer counselors will join 2 summer staff counselors in the cabin for a 5 counselor to 10 camper ratio.

Medical Support, Nurses and Physicians

The medical volunteers usually consist of nurses and doctors that specialize in the illness we are serving during that session. Some sessions require other medical volunteers, such as pharmacists, EMT/Paramedics, and respiratory therapists. They work side by side with our camp doctor and nurse. If you volunteer as part of our medical team, you must have your Florida License appropriate for your discipline. Medical and nursing students are encouraged to volunteer as cabin counselors. Please click here for more information about joining our medical team.

Dining Hall / Kitchen / Dishwasher

Dining Hall / Kitchen / Dishwasher volunteers help the food service manager and chef serve hearty and healthy meals all day long. They set and clean up the dining hall before and after the meals as well as prepare the food that everyone enjoys for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
