Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities At Camp

Special Events
Special event volunteers help with fundraising and other special events scheduled throughout the year. Our annual special events include: Challenge Ride, Bruce Rossmeyer's Ride For Children, end-of-the-year party for camper families, camp tours, and numerous regional events.

Housekeeping
Housekeeping volunteers work with our full-time staff, assisting them with laundry, tidying the cabins and program areas, and changing linens on camper beds between sessions

Maintenance
Maintenance volunteers work with our full-time staff, helping them keep our camp beautiful. We are looking for people who are able to help mow grass or do minor repairs such as painting, fixing sprinkler heads, replacing screens in doors, etc.

Office Support
Our three offices – Camp Operations, the Welcome Center, and the Patch (Medical Center) – are very busy places, and we are always looking for people who can help with copying, mailings, filing, answering telephones, and computer work on a daily basis. Also, we're always in need of office supplies, so please visit our needs list to see what we're in need of!

Quilts, Afghans, Boggy Bears, & More!
These are opportunities to help from home! Each session, campers and families go home with a hand-made afghan and Boggy Bear stitched with love. Because we give them away each session, having people make Boggy Bears and afghans is a top need. Our campers are amazed to see all the beautiful quilts that adorn the beds and walls of the cabins and buildings; because quilts stay at camp, there is a smaller need for them, as we just need some to replace older, worn quilts each year.

 We're also looking for some volunteers who can make and/or mend costumes for our theater program.

• Boggy Bears: When making Boggy Bears, please use our standard pattern. It is a difficult pattern, so sewing Boggy Bears is not for everyone. Click here to view and print the bear pattern.
• Afghans: Afghans can be crocheted or knitted and should be 35-40 inches wide by 40-50 inches long.
• Quilts for beds: Please use cotton or flannelette. Quilts should be 60 inches by 80 inches, machine-washable, and lightweight.
• Decorative Quilts: Quilts that we will use to decorate walls should be no larger than 7 feet by 10 feet.

Woodworking
This is an opportunity to help from home! Woodshop is one of the busiest activities at Camp, and we are constantly in need of people who can cut out unfinished wood projects for the campers to sand, assemble and decorate. Some woodshop projects include plaques, animal shapes, and race cars. Dining Hall / Kitchen / Dishwashers
Dining Hall / Kitchen / Dishwasher volunteers help the food service manager and chef serve hearty and healthy meals all day long. They set and clean up the dining hall before and after the meals as well as prepare the food that everyone enjoys for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Corporate Work Parties
Our team can work with your company to engage in a one-day project for team building. Your staff members can have the opportunity to give back and learn about Camp Boggy Creek programs.
