Serving as it’s main source of fundraising, The Chiera Family Foundation hosts a dinner/auction and golf tournament every spring. The dinner/ auction features both a silent and live auction and the golf tournament is a four man “best ball” event with prizes awarded for longest drive, closest to the pin as well as trophies for third place and runner ups with the CHAMPIONS receiving CHAMPIONSHIP BELTS for the lowest scores.

Business sponsorships range from $150 to $5,000, while the event can accommodate up to 160 players. Tennis Director Tom Salmon is encouraging St. John’s County residents to be active by with the tournament, even if they aren’t tennis players. “Once again, we would like to get the entire Palencia community involved, playing in the event or becoming a sponsor of the event,” he said. The 20th Annual Bruce Rossmeyer Ride for Children will take off with a roar on Sunday, October 5, 2014, at 10:00 AM sharp. Over 1000 motorcyclists will leave Destination Daytona, and receive a police escort all the way to Camp Boggy Creek in Eustis, FL, where they will enjoy both silent and live auctions, music and a buffet lunch generously donated by Outback Steakhouse. Funds raised will benefit the lives of seriously ill children and their families by enabling them to enjoy a life-enhancing camp experience.
