Camp Boggy Creek is a residential Camp for children with chronic or life- threatening illnesses. We provide traditional camping experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound.
We are able to do this because of the hundreds of doctors and nurses who lend their loving hearts and medical talents to these amazing children. Please join us by volunteering for a family retreat weekend or a week-long summer session. You will have the time of your life and provide a life changing experience for a seriously ill child and his or her family.
Our medical volunteers include:
Physicians: Each week we recruit at least one specialist with expertise in the illness being served. To complement the team, we also welcome general pediatricians, intensivists, emergency physicians and family practitioners.
Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants: Our team includes pediatric specialty nurses, pediatric nurses, general nurses with pediatric experience, ARNPs and PAs.
Pharmacists: We encourage Pharmacists to join us on Camper Arrival Day during our summer sessions to help us dose our camper medications for the whole week.
EMTs and Paramedics: Please join us for morning activities during our summer sessions.
Respiratory Therapists: Respiratory therapists are needed during our KOVAC session.
Volunteering in the Summer
Our medical team participates in daily camper life; we dance, we swim, and we fish with our campers while monitoring their well-being. We dispense their medications and we care for any medical concerns that may arise while they are at Camp. Our campers truly could not experience living “like normal kids” without expert medical oversight.
Volunteering on a Family Weekend
Weekends in the Patch (our Medical Center) include time to relax and enjoy our many activities along with your family and our campers. We are “on call” to provide acute care during the camp session.
