As Florida’s only multi-disease residential camp, Camp Boggy Creek relies on the incredible support we receive from our medical volunteers…doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other medical professionals. It is our mission to foster a spirit of joy by creating a free, safe and medically-sound camp environment that enriches the lives of children with serious illnesses and their families. Our medical volunteers help to deliver the “medically sound” part…they’re in on the fun, exciting and memorable parts too! For each of our summer sessions, our own full time physician and nurse are augmented by as many as 6 volunteer nurses and doctors…and that is in addition to the four nurses we hire for the summer! We also rely on volunteer doctors and nurses to help care for our campers during the many family retreat weekends we host in the fall and spring. It is this extensive medical support that gives the parents of seriously ill children the confidence to let those children come to Camp Boggy Creek. Your volunteer experience will do more than enrich the lives of our campers and their families; it will enrich you. After returning to their practices, treatment centers or hospitals, many of our medical volunteers have said that spending time with children in the camp setting has made them appreciate that they are children first and patients second. Please consider joining us and changing the lives of these brave kids.

We provide traditional camping experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound. We are able to do this because of the hundreds of doctors and nurses who lend their loving hearts and medical talents to these amazing children. Please join us by volunteering for a family retreat weekend or a week-long summer session. You will have the time of your life and provide a life changing experience for a seriously ill child and his or her family.
Physicians: Each week we recruit at least one specialist with expertise in the illness being served. To complement the team, we also welcome general pediatricians, intensivisits, emergency physicians and family practitioners.
Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants: Our team includes pediatric specialty nurses, pediatric nurses, general nurses with pediatric experience, ARNPs and PAs.
Pharmacists: We encourage Pharmacists to join us on Camper Arrival Day during our summer sessions to help us dose our camper medications for the whole week.
EMTs and Paramedics: Please join us for morning activities during our summer sessions.
Respiratory Therapists: Respiratory therapists are needed during our KOVAC session.
Our medical team participates in daily camper life; we dance, we swim, and we fish with our campers while monitoring their well-being. We dispense their medications and we care for any medical concerns that may arise while they are at Camp. Our campers truly could not experience living “like normal kids” without expert medical oversight.
Weekends in the Patch (our Medical Center) include time to relax and enjoy our many activities along with your family and our campers. We are “on call” to provide acute care during the camp session.
Camp Boggy Creek hires several nurses for the summer. These are paid positions, with room and meals provided. Request a job description and application by contacting email@example.com.

"Had an awesome time this weekend at Family Weekend. This was my first time at the camp and I was so IMPRESSED. What a wonderful experience. Everything was top notch. Keep up the good work. I am so glad my granddaugher has been able to attend the camp the past two years. She just loves it as well. Thanks again to everyone who make all of this possible."
