What makes Camp Boggy Creek so unique is our state-of-the-art medical facility. We’ve named it “The Patch” because it is where our campers come to get “patched up.” There are murals on the walls and medical personnel are dressed in shorts and t-shirts with Doctor Bob or Nurse Cindy on their name badges. Behind the fun and camp like setting is all of the pharmaceuticals and equipment to handle the illness or disease group that is at Camp at any given moment. From Band-Aids to dialysis, chemotherapy to bug bites, we have exactly what the doctor ordered.

Each family retreat weekend and summer session, a team of volunteer doctors and nurses specializing in the illness group being served supplement our own full time physician and nurse. We work very hard to keep this strong medical presence in the background so that the campers can actually forget that it is even there and just concentrate on having fun. With an exam table shaped like a dinosaur and camp nurses who tote meds out to the campers in tackle boxes, we insure that our Boggy Creek campers have the time of their lives in a medically sound environment. |
